Visa requirements for foreigners

No visa required

Regular passport holders, if citizen of one of the following countries and having a valid ordinary passport, can enter Turkey without obtaining a visa and stay up to

The citizens of the countries above and citizens of Bulgaria are exempted from transit visa. Bulgarian citizens have to pay for transit passing according to agreement dated March 10, 1993.

Notes

The citizens of Guatemala could obtain visas at borders for 15 days (maximum).
The citizens of Taiwan could obtain visas at borders for 1 month (maximum).
The citizens of Germany, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Malta, Switzerland and Greece can enter from the border gates determined by Turkey, namely, Turkey-Greece, Turkey-Bulgaria, Istanbul, Izmir, Canakkale, Mugla, Antalya, Içel, Hatay (Iskenderun) and Aydin sea ports, Istanbul Atatürk, Ankara Esenboga, Adana Sakirpasa, Antalya, Izmir A.Menderes, Mugla Dalaman, Kayseri Erkilet airports, with identity cards other than passports according to the "Agreement on the Travel of Individuals" dated 13.12.1957.

Turkey
Hi, your page says no visa is needed for Australians to visit Turkey, but that's not correct. I am travelling there in April 2003, and need to get a three month tourist visa, $40 AUD, which is obtained upon arrival in Turkey. Thought you'd like to know!
